about

True to its title, the chorus sings “we can talk it over in the morning…”

But there’s a lot we can’t just set aside for tomorrow: This pandemic, structural racism, domestic abuse, mental health and healthcare, the ever-expanding economic divide… For those enduring homelessness, all of those are amplified. So what can we do together to provide immediate relief?

For starters, every cent we see from this song will go to the Women’s Crisis and Bridge Housing program at The Midnight Mission.

This is somewhat personal, as someone very close to me has been through this program successfully, and I’ve seen firsthand the support this program provides. It was also the first program of its kind on Skid Row, and The Midnight Mission is the longest-running shelter in Los Angeles. What’s more, they’ve received the highest rating possible from Charity Navigator four years and counting.

lyrics

Go on hit the lights
Lemme call your bluff
The whites in your eyes
Don’t look so tough to me
They’re getting watery

We can talk it over in the morning, in the morning

Put it off again for breakfast food
Don’t wanna be rude, but are you avoiding me?
Or the conversation
You can try my patience, it’s getting thin

We can talk it over in the morning, in the morning

Don’t worry I get it
It’s scary to think
We can talk it over in the morning
Whatever it is
You can talk to me
We can talk it over in the morning
So take your time
It doesn’t need to rhyme
I think you’ll find it’s freeing

Or we could talk it over in the morning

(rippin’ guitar solo)

Funny how your tongue can come undone
With a couple of drinks and a sloppy kiss
But now
You got your lips sewn shut
But your eyes are trying
I can hear you crying

We can talk it over in the morning, in the morning

about

Cheer Up Club Los Angeles, California

Cheer Up Club are a clash of millennial ADDepression and the joyful nihilism of 90’s college radio.
Like a broken funhouse mirror, they reflect a cracked and distorted image of whatever’s put in front of them.
Loud, sarcastic, and fun, Cheer Up Club embrace an “anything goes” approach to songs that playfully
skate between the sweet, cynical, and sincere.
